From Acting To Politics: Laide Bakare Calls Herself ‘Game Changer’

Laide Bakare, a popular actress, has talked about how she got into politics and the crucial role that entertainment plays in governance while lamenting that those in positions of authority have not shown the stakeholders in the entertainment industry the needed appreciation.

The screen star, who is Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment, Arts, Culture and Tourism, also added that the entertainment industry has not been fully utilized for economic growth and national development.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the popular actress, who said this while talking to journalists, however called herself  a ‘game changer’.

‘We conducted our own research and discovered that the problem stems from those at the top. They tend to underrate the role of entertainment in national development. That is why we are coming up with fresh ideas and programmes to change that narrative.

I am a game changer, and I’m changing the game in politics. Entertainment should never be downplayed, especially given its economic value and the opportunities it presents.

It feels good and fulfilling. Years ago, when we were asked where we saw ourselves in five to eight years, this was the vision.
