Ahead of the General Election scheduled to hold on 25 February and March 11 2023, PDP presidential candidate , Alhaji Atiku Abubakar , gubernatorial , senate, reps, and house of Assembly candidates of the party in Kwara state will have the Fulani people living in the State of Harmony’s ‘full support’.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned the leaders of Fulani groups and associations in Kwara state declared support for the PDP candidates ahead of the General Election on behalf of their kinsmen during the interactive meeting held at the GRA ,Ilorin residence of former Senate president, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Saturday.
Director General , Kwara state PDP Campaign Council, Hon Ahmad Ali, a former member of the House of Representatives and ,a one-time Speaker of Kwara state House of Assembly , had after thanking the Fulani leaders for the steps they had taken, also noted that ‘ this message will resonate with residents and citizens of Kwara state and we hope to reciprocate this kind gesture’.
Hon Ali, who was joined by the state PDP Secretary, Alhaji Razaq Lawal ,Engineer Yinka Otukoko and other Kwara state PDP bigwigs in presiding over the interactive meeting, noted that the political structure currently headed by Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the Fulani people living in the state ,had always been on the same page when it comes to the development and future of Kwara state .
‘ I want to appreciate all the Fulani associations and the Jaoros in Kwara state for attending this interactive meeting as you have seen in this hall, all the leaders and stakeholders in Fulani community have pledged or better still restated their pledge to vote for all PDP candidates including Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the gubernatorial, senate, reps and house of assembly candidates in Kwara state.
This message will resonate with Kwara state residents and citizens and we hope to reciprocate this kind gesture and the support the Fulani groups , associations and Jaoros have given the PDP ahead of the general election.
We thank you very much and all the issues that we have discussed this evening , we hope that we would be together as we have always been for the development of Kwara state and for the advancement of the interests of the Fulani groups and leaders in the state.
We thank you and we hope that by next week, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will be announced as president-elect of Federal Republic of Nigeria’ he added.
Speaking earlier, Alhaji Aduragba Sulaiman Idris , Jaoro of Ajase-Ipo, had submitted that himself and his people had not fared well under the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq administration.
He also declared that his kinsmen in Kwara state would be voting for all PDP candidates – this earned a thunderous applause.
‘Iam saying this publicly without any fear of contradiction that the four years of the Malam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq administration has not impacted our lives positively ,we have always been with the Saraki political family by the grace of God all of us , the Fulani people in Kwara state , we will vote for the PDP candidates’ he said.
Alhaji Aliu Muhammed Oro Bacita also spoke in the same vein and promised that the Fulani people in Kwara state would give all PDP candidates in the state ‘total support’.
Noting that he had lived in Kwara state for more than sixty years and had since been aware that the Fulani people in Kwara state do support any political party that the Saraki political structure belongs to, Aliu Muhammed also added that they love Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki and will readily do anything because of him .
He however urged the former senate president to sustain the pact his late father, Dr Olushola Saraki had with them because he was according to him a leader of the Fulani people not only at the state level but also at the federal level.
He assured PDP leaders in the state that they will be voting for the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other PDP candidates in Kwara state.
Also speaking, Alhaji Bodunrin Magaji Yaman said the Fulani people in the state will be supporting all the PDP candidates.
‘We have been supporting the political structure led by late Dr Olushola Saraki since 1979 and we had never regretted doing this. We have all resolved to support all the candidates of the PDP and we pray that they will earn victory at all levels’ he said- Team@orientactualmags.com
