Gombe Top Govt Official Dies One Week Before Retirement
A top government official in Gombe state, Balarabe Poloma, is dead. Team@orientactualmags.com learned that he died on Sunday.
He was until his death on Sunday , the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Gombe city.
Poloma has died one week before his retirement from the civil service. He died at 60.
Governor Muhammadu Yahaya in a statement issued by his Director-General ,Press Affairs, Ismaila Misilli has condoled with family members, associates of the deceased civil servant and other residents of the state.
Yahaya described Balarabe as an experienced lawyer and a seasoned administrator, whose long service was characterized by dedication, hard work, diligence and meticulous attention to details.
He asked the Almighty God to grant the deceased civil servant eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the huge loss.
‘Barrister Poloma, aged 60, died in the early hours of today, Sunday, October 8, 2023, after a short illness, as confirmed by his family.
He was set to retire next week, marking the end of a long and illustrious service of a man who had the rare privilege of serving as Permanent Secretary under three successive governors in the state’ the statement said.
Yahaya extended his deepest condolences to Poloma’s wife, other bereaved family members, the Waja Traditional council where he held the title of Madaki, and the people of Balanga Local Government as well as the entire public service in Gombe State.
‘The entire Gombe state Government mourns the loss of Barrister Poloma, a man whose contribution to the state civil service and governance was invaluable.
We were greatly looking forward to celebrating his glorious and well-deserved retirement next week, but God had His plans. Barrister Poloma’s invaluable contribution to the development of civil service and our dear state, particularly in his capacity as Permanent Secretary, will continue to be cherished and remembered’ he submitted-Team@orientactualmags.com
