Gov Abdulrasaq,  Jamiu Oyawoye, Raheem Oladimeji  Honoured At KSANG 2022 Awards Ceremony In US

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has achieved commendable feats when it comes to basic amenities and getting the state repositioned for a better future, KSANG, which is the most influential body of Kwarans in Diaspora, said at the weekend.

The body  added that  personal observations from members, who had recently travelled home and reports of various projects and programmes from relatives back home  had shown that AbdulRazaq had gotten propelled largely by a passion to leave the state far better than he  had met it, especially  rural development initiatives, provision of basic amenities, and workers’ welfare.

The comments followed an evidence-based presentation by the government’s delegation to the KSANG Convention in New Jersey, United States. The three-person delegation comprised  Governor Abdulrasaq’s  Senior Special Assistant  on Nongovernmental Affairs, Mrs. Toyosi Thomas;  his Chief Press Secretary, Mr  Rafiu Ajakaye; and  a top APC chieftain and KSANG Ambassador; Oloriewe Raheem Adedoyin — accompanied by the Governor’s Focal Person on Diaspora, Dr. Lola Sawyer and a former APC House of Representatives aspirant, Dr. Toba Oloyede.

At the award dinner held on Saturday night in honour of the Governor, Africa’s father of Geology,  Prof. Jamiu Mosobalaje Oyawoye, founder of Al-Hikmah University, Alhaji AbdulRaheem Oladimeji, and  a thespian,  Alhaji Adebayo Salami, KSANG (North America) said AbdulRazaq’s “first three years have significantly transformed the socioeconomic and political landscape of Kwara’  while his “interventions in various sectors have brought ease to the masses and redirected governance in the state’.

Team@orientactualmags.com  learned the governor was honoured with ‘Award of Excellence’ during the event.

KSANG commended the Governor for his open door policy and excellent relationship with Diaspora Kwarans, including his appointment of a focal person, his gender inclusion policies and commitments to improving  learning outcomes for the Kwara child and improved healthcare delivery.

Earlier at the ‘Forum With Governor’, senior citizens in Diaspora had taken turns to commend the Governor for his people-focused governance which has benefited every part of the state.

Alhaji Mudasiru Yahya; Professor Femi Ajayi; outgoing KSANG President, Alhaji Yusuf Adanlawo; Prof. Wale Suleiman; and Mr. Taofeek Owolabi were among KSANG leaders who gave speeches during the event.

‘Kwara has become a better place and things can only improve in the coming years’ they submitted.

Prof. Suleiman acknowledged the improvements in the health sector over the last three years, saying the situation in 2019 was ‘below ground zero’.

Top entrepreneur, Dr. Lanre Shittu, who spoke on challenges and opportunities available in Kwara, said the administration has been very friendly to businesses and other private initiatives, adding however that a lot still needs to be done to drive industrialization.

He also commended the administration for its investments in basic education and for its efforts with regard to security which had made Kwara a safer place than many states in the country.

The event was attended by diplomats,  Kwarans and Nigerians in the United States, including US Rep Adeoye Owolewa, who is a Kwaran – Team@orientactualmags.com
