Gov AbdulRazaq Renominates Aliyu Sabi ,Senior Sulyman , Olaitan Buraimo As Commissioners ….Damilola Yusuf ,Qawiyu Olododo Among ‘Fresh’ Nominees
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara state made 18 cabinet nominations on Monday.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Speaker Yakubu Danladi-Salihu read out the names of the nominees on the floor of the house while noting that the governor had done this in line with section 14, Subsection 4 and Section 192, Subsection 125 of the nation’s constitution.
Four former members of the State Executive Council; Saadat Modibbo-Kawu, Senior Suleiman , Olaitan Buraimo and Aliyu Sabi were renominated as commissioners by the governor.
The ‘fresh’ nominees are Abdulganiyu Abdulazeez, (Asa), Sheu Ndanusa (Edu), Afolasade Kemi (Ekiti) and Dr Segun Ogunsola (Ifelodun), Abdulqowiy Olododo (Ilorin East), Hauwa Nuru (Ilorin West), Damilola Yusuf (Isin), Oloruntosin Thomas (Isin), and Bola Olukoju (Irepodun).
Others are Abubakar Abdullahi (Kaiama), John Bello (Moro), Dr Amina Al-Imam (Offa), Dr Mary Ayinde (Oke-Ero), and Usman Yinusa (Patigi).
Hajia Damilola is the daughter of a business magnate and industrialist, Alhaji Kamoru Yusuf, Dr Segun Ogunsola is from a popular political family in Kwara state headed by late Professor Albert Ogunsola, Amina El-Imam, is a senior lecturer at the Department of Microbiology, University of Ilorin, Mr. Qawiyy Olododo is the son of former rep Abdul Ganiyu Olododo, while Oloruntosin Thomas is Chief C.O Adebayo’s granddaughter in-law.
The nominees have since been asked to submit 35 copies of their curriculum vitae to the office of the Clerk of the House of Assembly before closing time on Tuesday, August 15 ahead of confirmation hearings scheduled to begin on August 16.
The House of Assembly has also given the governor the go-ahead to appoint 10 Special Advisers.
Governor AbdulRazaq had in the letter sent to the House of Assembly making cabinet nominations and seeking approval for the appointment of Special Advisers, noted that this was in accordance with section 196 Subsection 1 of the Constitution adding that the appointment of loyal and committed, individuals with right experience and acumen to serve under him will facilitate a smooth and effective governance.
