Gov AbdulRazaq Urges Continued Support For Military, Says Armed Forces Sacrificing A Lot To Keep Nigeria Safe
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara state on Sunday said the role of the Armed Forces in maintaining peace and securing the nation’s territorial integrity and the services rendered by them cannot be quantified, calling on citizens to continue to support them to succeed.
He added that it was also necessary as a country to continue to immortalize the fallen military personnel for being patriotic and the sacrifices they had rendered to guarantee safety and survival of mankind.
Abdulrazaq’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Rafiu Ajakaye noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the Governor said this in Ilorin during the celebration of the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, an event designed to annually honour the fallen military personnel.
‘It is a solemn day to remember our fallen heroes and to remember the services they have rendered to the nation, and to urge us as a nation to support our security agencies for the work they do’ he told newsmen .
The programme was organized by the Kwara state branch of the Nigerian Legion headed by retired Brigadier Gen. Abdulkadir Anigiobi.
AbdulRazaq had earlier inspected the guard of honour and laid a wreath while security echelon and dignitaries at the event took turns to do this.
He also expressed confidence that Nigeria remains indivisible despite all security challenges while disclosing that robust security controls are being worked upon by President Muhammadu Buhari to create a peaceful environment for the conduct of elections in February.
‘The main message surrounding the election is for us to have robust security architecture and a peaceful environment to conduct the election. The president has assured the security agencies to get the necessary supports from the government’ he said.
