Gov Adeleke Approves N3.3b Bond Certificates For Osun Retirees

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has again, approved a whopping sum of N3.3 billion for the payment of accrued rights (bond certificates) to workers who retired under the Contributory Pension Scheme in the state.

The state Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina, who disclosed this in a statement he issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Thursday noted that this has been done simultaneously with the regular monthly payment of pension and gratuities to retired public servants under the old pension scheme across the whole gamut of the public service.

‘Of this amount, N1.5 billion is for retirees at the state level comprising Ministries, Departments, Agencies, secondary schools and tertiary institutions while the sum of N1.8 billion is for those who retired from the local government service, junior and primary schools across the state. The fund that has been approved is undergoing due process at the Bureau of Public Service Pension and the Local Government Staff Pension Board.

It should be noted that this approval is apart from the regular monthly payment of pension and gratuities to retired public servants under the old pension scheme across the whole gamut of the public service.

Recall also that the welfare of workers and pensioners tops the 5- point Action Plan of Governor Ademola Adeleke – led administration in the state.
