Gov Adeleke Assures Aregbesola Of ‘Executive Protection’ In Osun, Says ‘He Has Done Us Proud’

A total of 1.8 million booklets were issued by the Nigeria Immigration Service in 2022 while steps are being taken to ensure an increase in this respect in 2023, Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has said.
Aregbesola also restated Federal Government ‘s commitment to alleviating the challenges Nigerians had faced with regard to getting passports which had since been done through improved service delivery and streamlining of the NIS operations.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned the minister said this on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Passport Front Office and Production Centre in Ilesa, Osun state.
He cited increase in number of applicants for the establishment of more passport front offices across the country by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration in order to make the process more seamless.
The minister and Governor Ademola Adeleke ,who attended the inauguration ceremony , also used the event as a platform to show camaraderie.
Giving his speech , Governor Adeleke assured Aregbesola of ‘executive protection’ noting that he (Aregbesola) has done Osun state proud.
He also in a jocular remark called this an ‘executive order’.
‘ I am issuing an Executive Order to protect you; nobody can pursue you from this state. It is your state, nobody can stop you from coming in as you like. You are making us proud.
I will invite you to the inauguration ceremony of the ongoing structure inside the government house in Osogbo after completing the building project and you will spend the night there after the event’ he said.
Aregbesola had earlier in his speech also thanked Adeleke for attending the event which, he noted, had not been the case during the immediate past administration in the state.
‘I want to acknowledge and appreciate you (Gov. Adeleke) for honouring me with your presence. I left this state as governor some years ago. As a Minister, I have attended several events in this state, and the former Governor, despite being from the same party attended only one of those events.
Now, Governor Adeleke, from a different party, has honoured me with his presence at my first event in the state. I really appreciate you’ he said.
Governor Adeleke, who arrived at the venue of the event at about 12:30pm, a few minutes after his Deputy , Kola Adewusi had gotten there, had bowed to greet Aregbesola and he got a warm hug from the minister- Team@orientactualmags.com
