Gov Adeleke Calls For Establishment Of Task force To Strengthen Security In Southwest… To Present 2.1b Bond Certificates To Pensioners In Osogbo Tomorrow

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has called for the establishment of a regional security taskforce to tackle growing cases of cross-border crimes in the southwest.
A Government House, Osogbo statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the governor said this during the visit of the General Officer Commanding 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Valentine Okoro to his office on Tuesday.
Okoro lauded the governor for creating a safe and secure environment for residents to live and conduct lawful businesses.
Major General Valentine Okoro, who led a delegation of senior army officers in the division including the Commander of Engineering Construction Command to the governor’s office in Osogbo, , said he was in Osun state as part of efforts to familiarize himself with the operating procedures in the states under his command.

bed Osun as one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria and therefore commended the governor for his huge investment in securing lives and property of the people.
Major General Okoro said Osun state was lucky to have the Engineering Construction Command in Ede, which has Army Engineers, specialists and combatants that contribute to the security architecture of the state.
He appreciated the government and people of Osun state for creating a stable and secure environment while calling for more collaboration between the security agencies and the people not just to secure and sustain the stable environment but to also improve on it by volunteering relevant and genuine information to the Nigerian Army which he described as people-centric.
Welcoming the General Officer Commanding to the state, Governor Ademola Adeleke said the visit ‘is very significant and a great opportunity to strengthen the security strategy on the sustenance of the current peace and stability not just in Osun but in the region’.
Governor Adeleke therefore called for the establishment of a regional task force to track and curb cross -border crimes in the southwest and other areas under Okoro’s Command.
He also called for a synergy between the state government and the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army ,while assuring the delegation that Osun ‘is the home of hospitality where no one is discriminated against based on tribe, ethnicity or religion’.
The governor lauded the Commander of Engendering Construction Regiment, Ede, , Brig. Gen. K. F Sulaimon for the wonderful job he has done in securing the state saying being aware of the presence of a military barrack in Ede ‘is enough deterrent to criminals who might be seeking for a place to perpetuate their criminal activities’.
In another development, Governor Ademola Adeleke has again taken steps that retirees in the state will definitely consider as life- enhancing by approving the release and distribution of bond certificates worth 2.1 billion naira to them under the contributory pension scheme.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, the presentation ceremony will hold tomorrow , Thursday, August 10 , 2023 at the Local Government Service Commission building, Osogbo.
The beneficiaries will include former high school teachers, those who retired from civil service, tertiary institutions, parastatals among others-Team@orientactualmags.com
