Gov Adeleke Discloses Steps Taken On Dispute Between Oluwo And Traditional Religion Worshipers, Urges Religious Harmony

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has urged religious harmony and warned against religious conflicts in the state, stating the need for adherents of different religions to ensure friendly coexistence.

Adeleke’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Olawale Rasheed noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the governor  has taken steps to resolve the dispute between the Oluwo of Iwoland and the traditional religion worshippers association  with regard to the celebration of Isese festival.

He added that  Governor Adeleke has  directed his Special Adviser on Security, Mr. Samuel Ojo to visit  Iwo  and settle the matter.

The statement added that the  Special Adviser, who was at the Oluwo’s palace , Iwo met various stakeholders and also had a telephone conversation with  Oba  Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi ,who was out of town.

He also had interactions with some traditional religion worshippers who had vowed to converge on Iwoland to challenge the traditional ruler who had reportedly banned them from his domain.

‘I was in the town  on the directive of Mr. Governor. I spoke with Kabiyesi, Oluwo and he promised to ensure peace and security though he is out of town. I interacted with  some other traditional leaders not far from the palace.

The message is that peaceful coexistence is a must and any group that breaches peace of the state will have the security agents to contend with.

We have taken all necessary security precautions. The traditional religion worshippers are free to exercise their fundamental human rights. They must act within the bounds of law. The governor has also announced Monday, August  21 as a  free day to commemorate the 2023 Isese Day Festival’ the statement quoted  the Security Adviser to have submitted-Team@orientactualmags.com
