Gov Adeleke Hosts Iftar Dinner In Osogbo.. Presents Gifts To Ramadan Quiz Winners
As Muslims across the world celebrate the conclusion of Ramadan 1444H/2023, activities and programmes that have to do with the holy month of Ramadan which were organized by Osun state government under Governor Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke’s leadership equally reached its climax and recorded gestures of goodwill from the government to the citizens.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Thursday noted that the state had not only sponsored a programme called ‘Al_Bur’haan’ on Osun State Broadcasting Corporation(OSBC) which was made to be a platform to inform, educate and enlighten Muslim faithful, they were also encouraged to answer questions on the knowledge and understanding of their religion while those who provided correct answers won cash prizes, home appliances, electronic gadgets, foodstuffs and other items.
Secretary to the State Government, Hon Teslim Igbalaye, who presided over the grand finale of the programme ,was full of praises for Governor Ademola Adeleke commending him for giving immeasurable attention and support to the Muslim Ummah in the state during the fasting period.
‘ I wish to thank my boss, the Executive Governor of Osun state, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for the gracious approval to organize the Al-Bur’haan programme on Osun state Broadcasting Corporation in order to enable the good citizens of Osun state and beyond win various prizes during this Holy Month of Ramadan with a view to bringing governance down to the grassroots and allowing as many as possible to feel the impact of good governance.
I have been reliably informed that a total number of 171 callers from Osun state and neighbouring states have won various consumable items since the commencement of the programme till today that we are hosting the Star Prize winners. AlhamduliLlaah’ he said.
Teslim assured the good people of the state especially Muslim faithful at the event that the programme will not only be sustained by the Ademola Adeleke administration but would also be made to witness improvements.
It will be recalled that Governor Ademola Adeleke had also hosted Islamic scholars and Muslim leaders in the state to Iftar dinner at his private residence during the fasting period including league of Imams & Alfas in Osun state, traditional rulers, academics, judicial officers , political functionaries among others.
Renowned Islamic scholars and clerics were also invited to deliver sermons at each of the events.
Ramadan Lectures were also held at the Government House, Osogbo which had a renowned Islamic Scholar and an erudite Professor of Islamic Studies from the University of Ibadan doing justice to different topics.
Over 100 Islamic organizations were invited for the programme.
In his remarks during the closing ceremony of the programme sponsored by the state government called ‘Al-Burhaan’, Hon Teslim Igbalaye thanked members of the Osun state Ramadan Programme Planning Committee and the Management of the OSBC for their efforts towards the success of the programme.
