Gov Adeleke Leaving PDP For APC ‘Inconceivable’, ‘Unthinkable’ – Shuaib Oyedokun

Gov Adeleke Leaving PDP For APC ‘Inconceivable’, ‘Unthinkable’ – Shuaib Oyedokun

A  popular and prominent politician in the country,  Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun, on Sunday submitted that ‘it  is unthinkable and inconceivable’ that Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state will leave the PDP for APC, asserting that this was never ‘under consideration’.

Reacting to  the rumours  that the governor was considering defection to the APC , Alhaji  Shuaib  Oyedokun, who is one of the most experienced politicians in the country, took a trip down memory lane and chronicled events leading to the defection of Governor Ademola Adeleke from the APC to PDP in 2017.

Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun, a one-time PDP Deputy National Chairman , South,   in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Sunday night, also urged support for PDP House of Assembly candidates in Osun state ahead of   the House of Assembly election scheduled to hold on 11 March 2023.

Governor Ademola Adeleke and Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun

‘The social media has been awash with rumours of a possible defection of His Excellency, Ademola Adeleke from the PDP to the opposition party in the state as a form of refuge.

Honestly, this is nothing, but a farce contrived to cause panic ahead of the House of Assembly Election scheduled to hold on March 11.

It is unthinkable that the Governor would contemplate moving from ‘Imole’ where his ‘Al -nur’ remains glowing and head back to dungeon of people who once denied him of a well- deserved opportunity to complete his brother’s term in the senate.

It will be recalled that vacancy  had  occurred as a result of his beloved brother’s untimely demise  while serving  as  representative of Oṣùn West in the senate.

More importantly, the readmission of the Adeleke family into PDP was then based on a four- prong pact between the state leadership of the party and the surviving patriarch of the family.

It is noteworthy that the first two legs of the pact were timely executed, while the other two are on-going  because of their long-term nature.

Incidentally one of them borders on assurance to provide good governance to the people of Oṣùn state and to shun any temptation of ever returning to the APC that  had rejected him at his time of need.

The Governor by hitting the group like a whistle blow has shown evidence of strict adherence to all agreement. And to ensure an enabling environment for all- inclusiveness, he has been preaching harmony at all levels in the party.

Fortunately,  an official refutation of the planted defection story has been issued and reechoed by the State Acting Chairman, Dr Adekunle.

I am therefore allaying PDP members’ fears and  I appeal to party supporters and  members to  come out in large numbers on  Saturday March 11 to replicate the landslide victory recorded on February 25  2023 .  We won all the reps and senate seats and we will also win all the House of Assembly seats’ he said.

Chief Oyedokun, who was the Secretary to old Oyo state Government under  Dr Omololu Olunloyo , later served as National Deputy Chairman (South)  of the PDP during President Olusegun Obasanjo administration.

An indigene of Inisha, Odo-Otin local government, Osun state, he also served as   Chairman of the Michael Imodu National Institute for Labour Studies, (MINILS), Ilorin during the Goodluck Jonathan administration- Team@orientactualmags.com
