Gov Adeleke Makes 25 Cabinet Nominations… Gani Olaoluwa, Fafa Banana, Kolapo Alimi Among Nominees …Osun Assembly Announces Hearings Schedule

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has made 25 cabinet nominations.

Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Adewale Egbedun read out the names of the nominees on the floor of the house on Friday.

 Team@orientactualmags.com learned that those nominated for cabinet positions are Barr. Oladosu Babatunde, Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe, Mr. Sesan Epharaim Oyedele , Barr. Kolapo Alimi, Mr. Soji Ajeigbe, Mr. Moshood Olalekan Olagunju, Hon. George Alabi,  Hon. Sunday Olufemi Oroniyi, Mr. Abiodun Bankole Ojo,  Dr. Basiru Tokunbo Salami,  Mr. Morufu Ayofe,  Mr. Sola Ogungbile, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo,  Mrs. Ayo Awolowo, Barr. Wole Jimi Bada, Hon. Dipo Eluwole, Alh. Rasheed Aderibigbe,  Prof. Morufu Ademola Adeleke, Mr. Adeyemo Festus Ademola,  Mr. Olabiyi Anthony Odunlade,  Barr. Jola Akintola, Hon. Mayowa Adejorin,  Mrs. Adenike Folashade Adeleke,  Mr. Tola Faseru and  Alh. Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa.

Barrister Kolapo Alimi and Hon Biyi Odunlade served as  Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Commissioner for Youths, Sports, and Special Needs respectively  during the Rauf Aregbesola administration while Adeyemo Festus Ademola served as former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola’s Chief of Staff.

Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa served as Oyinlola’s Special Assistant, Special Adviser on Special Duties before getting elected as Chairman of Olorunda local government. He later served as Chairman of Osun state PDP.

 Hon Abiodun Ojo popularly called ‘Fafa banana’  , who is a popular politician in  the state, is also among the nominees.

The House of Assembly has set up an Ad-Hoc Committee to interface with the nominees ahead of the confirmation hearings while also announcing the hearings schedule.

‘In furtherance of its oversight responsibilities and strict compliance to the provisions of the relevant sections of the Constitution of the  Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and sequel to the release of the list of the cabinet nominees  by the governor , the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, has directed the said nominees to appear for the screening exercise before the Honourable House in the following order.   

DAY 1: Wednesday, 12th July, 2023. 

Barr. Oladosu Babatunde, Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe, Mr. Sesan Ephraim Oyedele, Barr. Kolapo Alimi, Mr. Soji Ajeigbe,   Mr. Moshood O. Olagunju and Hon. George Alabi. Others are Hon. Sunday Olufemi Oroniyi, Mr. Abiodun Bankole Ọjọ, Dr. Basiru Tokunbo Salami, Mr. Morufu Ayofe, Mr. Ṣọlá Ogungbile and Rev. Bunmi Jenyo.   

DAY 2: Thursday, 13th July, 2023.  

Mrs. Ayọ Awolowo, Barr. Wole Jimi-Bada, Hon. Dipo Eluwole, Alhaji Rasheed Aderibigbe, Prof. Moruf Ademola Adeleke, Mr. Adeyemo Festus Ademola, Mr. Olabiyi Anthony Odunlade and Barr. Jola Akintola. Others include Hon. Mayowa Adejoorin, Mrs. Adenike Folashade Adeleke, Mr. Tola Faseru and Alhaji Gani  Ayobami Olaoluwa.  

The nominees, as earlier directed by the Hon. Speaker, are being reminded to submit 35 copies of their Curriculum Vitae, academic certificates and other relevant documents. In addition, each nominee is required to come along with original copies of all the documents earlier submitted on his or her day of appearance’ Laide Lawal, who is the Director of Information and Public Relations, Osun state House of Assembly , submitted in a statement issued in Osogbo on Friday.

Though Adeleke  was sworn in as sixth executive governor of Osun state by the state Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo  on Sunday, November 27, 2022, he had apparently held matters that have to do with formation of cabinet in abeyance because the house of assembly was until last month controlled by the APC-Team@orientactualmags.com
