Gov Adeleke’s Cabinet Nominees: Don’t Have High Hopes, Osun APC Tells Citizens

The leading opposition party in Osun state, the APC , on Saturday reacted to the cabinet nominations made by Governor Ademola Adeleke and told residents and citizens of the state not to have high hopes.
The party described the cabinet nominations as ‘the worst assemblage of government actors that would ever be witnessed in the history of the 32-year-old State of the Virtuous’ adding that this has further exposed another failed promise of the Adeleke administration.
The state APC Chairman , Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued in Osogbo which was made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi on Saturday, submitted that ‘there is nothing to celebrate about the galaxy of Hallelujah men and women who will be annoyingly entrusted with the governance of the state through their various ministries’.
‘What are we even saying about the composition of cabinet by the Adeleke administration? Can a government be better than the quality of the head of such a government? The answer is a capital no.
It is an impossible Utopia as one cannot plant corn and expect to harvest banana no matter the injection of the intervention of a scientific methodology’ the state APC chairman submitted.
Lawal also said the governor’s explanation that the wife of his late brother, Mrs. Adenike Folashade Adeleke, could not be considered as a member of his immediate family in Ede ‘is hyper offensive to the sensibilities of the discerning minds in the state’ while noting that it was an anomaly that only two females were among the cabinet nominees.
He stated that though ‘it is not the business of the APC to teach Adeleke of the PDP extraction how to run his government’, however, the party ‘is concerned that most of the nominees have no sound and verifiable backgrounds’.
Lawal also noted that having two chieftains of the defunct The Osun Progressives (TOP) under former Minister of Interior, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola’s patronship ; Barr Kolapo Alimi and Mr. Biyi Odunlade among Adeleke’s cabinet nominees, has further vindicated the Osun state APC in respect of allegations that there were people with divided loyalty in the party and this, the statement noted, ‘further attests to the fact that there has been a secret alliance between the TOP members and the PDP’.
The party also urged Osun state citizens not to expect any miracle from the Adeleke administration- Team@orientactualmags.com
