Gov Idris Approves Payment Of N75,000 New Minimum Wage To Kebbi Workers…Gives 72-Hour Implementation Deadline

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has approved the payment of N75,000 as new minimum wage  to state and local government workers in the state .

The approval was granted on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi, and the governor signed the implementation document in the presence of the NLC officials led by their National President, Mr  Joe Ajero.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted that Idris has also given the Ministry of Finance a 72-hour deadline to carry out the directive.

He emphasized that October salary must reflect the increment, fulfilling the promise he had made to workers during the national minimum wage discussions.

Expressing gratitude to the  labour leaders, Governor Idris acknowledged their unwavering support from his election campaign to his judicial battles.

He noted that their backing inspired him to lead by example, demonstrating the leadership potential of unionists in governance.

In his remarks, Comrade Joe Ajero, praised Governor Idris for his exceptional performance in spite of limited resources.

He commended the governor for giving the state capital a new look, constructing schools, hospitals, and bridges, while also providing free fertilizers and irrigation pumps, all without neglecting the welfare of workers.

Ajero further commended the governor for maintaining a debt-free administration, consistently paying salaries, gratuities, pensions, and other benefits.

He remarked that this dedication has enhanced the value of unionists in Nigerian politics.

Earlier, Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida,  had disclosed that the labour unions in the state had presented three wage proposals, N72,000, N73,000, and N75,000, and without alterations. Governor Idris ultimately approved the highest.

The state Accountant General, Alhaji Bello Nahaliku, assured that the government will sustain the new wage structure under Governor Idris while urging workers in the state to reciprocate this kind gesture by enhancing their productivity at their respective workplaces-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
