Kebbi state governor, Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu, has approved the release of Five Hundred and Twenty four million, Five Hundred and Forty Seven Thousand, Nine hundred and Twenty Naira for the payment of registration fees for indigenes of the state who are students at tertiary institutions in the country and India.
Commissioner for Higher Education, Hon. Isah Abubakar Tunga disclosed this in a statement he issued in Birnin Kebbi and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Friday.
The statement noted that N265,654,000, (Two Hundred and Sixty Five Million, Six Hundred and Fifty Four Thousand Naira) has been approved by the governor to pay tuition and registration fees for Fifty (50) indigenes of the state who are students at universities in India including those who have changed their initial medical-related courses to Humanities.
Governor Nasir Idris has also approved the payment of Return Flight Tickets from India to Birnin Kebbi for (13) Thirteen students who have graduated from various universities across India.
The statement further explained that the sum of N258,893,920, (Two Hundred and Fifty Eight Million, eight hundred and ninety three thousand, Nine Hundred and Twenty Naira) was also approved for the payment of registration fees for 2,828 (Two Thousand , Eight Hundred and Twenty Eight) students at the Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto for the 2023/2024 academic session.
