Kebbi State governor, Dr Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu has submitted that he will continue to do the needful to ensure the safety and security of the entire state.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted that he said this on Sunday when the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar visited him at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

‘As a responsible government we will not fold our arms and see our people experience insecurity.
So, we will continue to do everything humanly possible to enable all the peace loving residents of the state sleep with all their two eyes closed’ the Kauran Gwandu added.
Dr Idris also called for the establishment of an Air Force Base in the state to further solidify the ongoing fight against terrorism and banditry.
According to him, the state boasts of an ultramodern fully equipped Airport that would complement the operations of the proposed Air Force Base in the state.
Dr Idris decried the recurring menace of banditry especially in the Southern local governments of Zuru, Sakaba and Danko-Wasagu adding that the bandits are routinely intruding into the state from the neighbouring Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states, noting that the state also borders Niger and Benin Republics.
He added that the rampaging bandits had forced some farmers to abandon their farmlands in the worst affected local governments, posing a threat to food security.
Dr Idris restated his administration’s unwavering commitment to assisting and partnering with the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies with a view to combating the menace.
He particularly commended NAF for its sustained onslaught against the terrorists and bandits, saying that the state remains strategic in the country.
The COAS had earlier commended Dr Idris for his high magnanimity towards the service and the entire Nigerian Armed Forces.
Abubakar also lauded the governor for what he called his tireless efforts in steering the affairs of the state towards meaningful growth and development while acknowledging the giant strides of Dr Idris towards agricultural development.
‘I have been keenly following this happy trend.
I must also commend your sustained support to rice and wheat farmers that bolstered prosperity and economic growth’ he said.
He also praised the governor’s efforts in respect of boosting education and a myriad of empowerment initiatives as well as programmes to improve the well-being of the people.
Abubakar averred that Kebbi State remains vital to national security and stability of the country while lamenting the increasing activities of the Lakurawa bandits and noting that the ugly development could erode the successes recorded.
He added that his visit to Birnin Kebbi is to brainstorm and consolidate on the gains recorded in the fight against terrorism and banditry in the state-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
