Gov Idris Commended For His Support As Kebbi Varsity Waives Late Registration Charges
Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero, has commended the state governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu, for his unwavering support in respect of advancement of academic excellence.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted that Acting Vice- Chancellor of the university, Professor Muhammad Abubakar Maikasuwa, said this during the press conference he presided over at the institution’s Senate Building on Tuesday.
He highlighted the governor’s approval of a new salary structure for staff of the university and his sponsorship of tuition and registration fees for students as key contributions.
In a significant move to ease financial burden on the parents, the university has withdrawn late registration charges and extended the 2024/2025 registration deadline beyond the initial date of March 29, 2025.
‘Considering the current financial challenges faced by the parents, the university management has resolved to waive late registration charges and refund affected students. The final registration deadline will be communicated in due course’ Professor Maikasuwa said.
He also announced the commencement of the disbursement of ₦793 million from the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) received from the Federal Government, with the first batch of screened beneficiaries receiving their money on Tuesday.
Additionally, he disclosed that the university generated ₦24 million from accommodation fees, further strengthening its financial position.
