Gov Idris Condemns Abduction Of Kebbi High School Students, Says Rescue Operation Underway
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has assured parents of the abducted young girls who are students at Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, Danko Wasagu Local Government that the state government is committed to taking necessary steps to rescue the abductees.
The governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement he issued in Birnin Kebbi and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that he gave the assurance while talking to journalists in Maga shortly after meeting with security agencies, traditional leaders, parents of the abducted children, and other stakeholders to discuss the situation.
Governor Idris condemned the criminal act, describing the incident as deeply unfortunate.
He reassured parents that security agents are working tirelessly to ensure the safe return of the 25 abducted schoolgirls.
He also noted that his visit to Maga was to personally assess the situation, console the parents, and restore their confidence.
‘The unfortunate incident has already occurred, and we came to see things for ourselves. We met with the parents whose children were abducted to give them confidence and to assure them that we will do everything possible to ensure the safe rescue of their children.
We have also urged them to remain confident, as the security agencies are doing the needful. That is the essence of coming to Maga, to support our people, give them encouragement, and strengthen their hope’ the governor added.
