Gov Idris Fulfils Campaign Promise, Renovates Birnin Kebbi Central Mosque
Kebbi state governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu has fulfilled one of his campaign promises by getting the Kebbi Central Mosque, Birnin Kebbi, renovated.

Engineer Imran Bin-Usman, who is the governor’s Special Adviser on Religious Affairs , noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Friday that the Kebbi mosque renovation project was in fulfillment of Nasiru’s campaign promise of touching all aspects of human endeavours.
‘We thank Almighty God for giving us a governor like Dr. Idris. You can see things for yourself how the mosque has been renovated to a world-class standard and modern shape.
Other governors did their best but none of them established a Ministry of Religious Affairs, but we now have it under Dr. Nasir Idris.
Renovation of places of worship is very important in the sense that when Umar Ibn Haddab, assumed the leadership of the Muslim Ummah, he directed his governors to pay more attention to observance of salat.
Bin-Usman added that when a Muslim pays attention to observing his daily prayers, he would find responsibilities of governance more easily to be executed’ he said.
The Kauran Gwandu-led administration, he also disclosed, will embark on the rehabilitation of more mosques, organize mass wedding for less privileged women and empower Almajiri children, among others.
‘We have a proposal to rehabilitate many more places of worship; and install solar systems there.
The mass wedding for less-privileged women will be conducted, street beggars will be taken off the streets, especially Almajiris and they will be empowered to be self reliant in order to become productive members of the society’ he added.
Earlier in his sermon, the Chief Imam of the Central Mosque, Imam Mukhtar Walin-Gwandu, had commended the governor for renovating the mosque, the conveniences and the hall.
‘During the rainy season, rain usually drifts through the mosque and the mosque’s carpet could easily get damaged.
_But now, the roof has been changed while the carpet has been replaced with a new quality one.
A mosque should be a place for praying, reading, preaching, and a place for conflict, marriage and domestic disputes resolution.
A place like this should not be allowed to be filthy, unkempt and unmaintained’ he said.
The Engineer, who handled the renovation project, Alhaji Muhammad Nasir Usman, said quality materials have been used while urging members of the committee in charge of the maintenance of the mosque to be dedicated and committed and ensure routine maintenance of the place of worship in question-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
