Gov Idris Hopeful About Timely Completion Of Koko-Dabai Road Project

Kebbi State governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has expressed confidence that the ongoing 87 kilometre Koko-Dabai Road reconstruction project will be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

It has N64 billion as its project cost.

The governor, who flagged off the project last month with an 18-month completion target, gave this assurance during an inspection visit to the project site on his return from Yauri, where he attended the grand finale of the 2025 Yauri Annual Rigatta and Cultural Festival.

‘What we have seen today has given us confidence that, by the Grace of God, the contractors will finish the work ahead of schedule’ Governor Idris stated.

Mr Yahaya Sarki, who is the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that Dr Idris restated Kebbi State’s commitment to funding the project, promising that the Ministry of Finance would fulfill its financial obligation to the three contractors engaged for the job.

‘We believe in the rule of law and transparency, any company that has completed its documentation will receive its due payment after passing through the required process’ he said.

Although the Koko-Dabai Road is a federal project, Governor Idris assured that both the federal and state engineers, led by the Federal Controller of Works and the Kebbi State Ministry of Works, are actively supervising the project to ensure adherence to quality.
