Gov Idris Inspects Koko-Dabai Road Project, Expresses Satisfaction With Quality, Pace Of Work

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State made an inspection visit to the ongoing 87-kilometre Koko-Dabai road project on Tuesday and he has expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work there.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted that the governor inspected some sections of the project on his way to Zuru and stopped off to inspect the end point of each of the sections awarded to the respective construction companies to assess the work being done.

At the GNIC section, after receiving briefings from the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdullahi Umar Muslim, and the site engineer, Mr. Chong G, Governor Idris commended the standard and pace of work, noting that he is impressed with the current level of progress.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to quality work, assuring the contractors that funds would be disbursed promptly once the Ministry of Works and the Price Intelligence Unit certify the completed portions.

‘This government does not make empty promises. What we say, we mean. We have the funds for this project. If you need anything, let us know.

But I will only release money after the relevant authorities have certified your work’ he said.

Governor Idris restated his directive to all contractors to adhere strictly to specifications outlined in the contractual agreements while urging them to ignore distractions from critics who initially doubted his administration’s commitment to executing the project.

He added that the three companies handling the project are working diligently to meet the 18-month completion deadline.

At the Habib Engineering section, a Civil Engineer, Bisher Moushli assured the governor that, God willing, the company would complete its portion on time.

Governor Idris described Habib Engineering as a trusted name in the construction industry, assuring the company of continued government support.

‘You should ignore social media criticisms about delays, as long as you are working according to the terms and conditions of your agreement with the State Government’ the governor told the engineer.

Governor Idris also visited the ZBCC section of the road project to assess ongoing work.

Recall that the governor flagged off the reconstruction of the Koko-Dabai road project in January 2025, with an 18-month completion period.

Under the project scope, ZBCC is handling the 25-kilometre stretch from Dabai to GGC Mahuta, Habib Engineering is constructing the 25-kilometre section from GGC Mahuta to Marafa while GNIC is responsible for the 37-kilometre portion from Marafa to Koko-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
