Gov Idris Inspects Projects, Urges Opposition To Shun Misinformation

The governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu, has once again, asserted that his administration has recorded tremendous developmental achievements within two years in office.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted that he said this during an inspection visit to some key projects in the State capital, Birnin Kebbi on Friday.

Governor Idris also urged opposition parties in the state to desist from promoting misinformation aimed at misleading the public into believing that his administration has done nothing.

The governor visited the newly constructed School of Midwifery in Ambursa, the ongoing construction of a Mega School in Birnin Kebbi, and some completed projects such as the City Gate, the reconstructed Rima Roundabout, and the six-lane road in the state capital.

He noted that the people of Kebbi State including journalists are witnesses to the numerous impactful projects executed since his administration came into being two years ago.

He lamented that some of his political opponents have refused to acknowledge the significant progress made under his leadership and have instead continued to spread falsehood for political gains.

‘My administration has transformed Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, into a modern cosmopolitan city comparable with other state capitals across the country

Since I assumed office, we have ensured the consistent and timely payment of salaries, pensions, gratuities, and other entitlements ,whether or not federation allocation comes in.

When I came into office, there was an embargo on employment, which I lifted.

That singular action paved the way for the employment of over 5,000 workers, including teachers and nurses, and the absorption of over 2,000 casual workers into permanent employment , an achievement unmatched in Northern Nigeria’ he added.

The governor condemned the opposition for circulating lies and baseless allegations in a bid to gain cheap political attention.

‘Just look at the infrastructure projects we have executed , roads, schools, hospitals, water and electricity supply all aimed at improving the lives of our people.

This administration was the first in Kebbi State to construct a six-lane highway, provide free education, and distribute free fertilizers and other agricultural inputs.

As long as I remain the governor, these items will continue to be given freely to support our farmers’ the Kauran Gwandu submitted.

He further disclosed that his administration has renovated General Hospitals, upgraded 29 Primary Healthcare Centres, with several others currently undergoing renovation.

Speaking on Tourism and Culture, Governor Idris expressed his administration’s commitment to organizing the Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival next year.

‘We are putting in place the necessary infrastructure and facilities to elevate the status of the festival and the historic town of Argungu on the global stage’ he said.

On security, the governor disclosed that over ten new operational vehicles have been procured and would be distributed to the security agencies to enhance their capacity, in addition to what was earlier made available to them.

‘The welfare of our security personnel remains a top priority.

Following a request to the Federal Government, we have received Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) for both the Police and the Army.

These have been deployed to Arewa, Augie, and Danko-Wasagu Local Governments to strengthen security and consolidate recent gains in protecting the lives and property of our people’ he added-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
