Gov Makinde, Ortom, 2 Others Warned Fubara Against Fighting Me-Wike

Gov Makinde, Ortom, 2 Others Warned Fubara Against Fighting Me-Wike

Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike has disclosed that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, former governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, former governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, and former governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi warned the suspended governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara against fighting him.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the minister, who disclosed during a live media chat on Monday, also said Fubara has visited him at his Port Harcourt residence to sue for peace.

Fubara, he added, was accompanied by three people including two serving governors.

‘Yes, he came. He came with two governors and one other person. Unfortunately, the two governors are APC governors, so, I will not pursue them. And he said he wants peace, fine. I want peace’ Wike submitted while adding that the problems Fubara is facing are ‘self-manufactured’.

Nyesome Wike

‘Indeed, this is a self-inflicted injury. He does not need it. When this thing started, I called him, Seyi Makinde was there, Ortom was there, Ikpeazu was there, Ugwuanyi was there, we were scouting. We sat him down and said this thing is not good for you. God has given you this thing, why not be humble and not allow people to push you? They are telling you to act like a governor. We know. Nobody is taking it away; you are a governor. But all I am saying is don’t abandon people who have laboured for you day and night’ he added.

Mr  Nyesom Wike also faulted assertions that he is the one promoting intraparty conflict in PDP asserting that he is rather strengthening the leading opposition party.

‘No, I’m building it. Why are some people leaving? Their fear is ‘I don’t know who will sign our documents’, because the constitution says correspondence to INEC must be signed by the National Chairman or National Secretary’ Wike submitted while responding to a reporter’s question accusing him of tearing PDP apart.

He also said ‘lack of clarity’ on who should get recognized as PDP National Secretary has been a big problem for the party while adding that it may also hinder the planned National Executive Council meeting.

‘Now you are having a quagmire of who will be the National Secretary. For example, area councils election which is conducted by INEC, who is going to sign the list by INEC?

If Anyanwu is not signing and another person signs, they will go to court – if we really want this party to survive, why can’t we make sacrifice – let’s not put ourselves under this.

You want to host NEC – who issues the notice of NEC? If another person issues that notice, we will challenge it. If it’s not the National Secretary, I will challenge it because that’s the law, that’s Supreme Court judgment’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
