Gov Makinde Subtly Reacts To Adelabu’s 2027 Guber Election Comments, Says Oyo People ‘ll Have ‘Final Say’
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State submitted on Thursday that the people of the state will determine who will be the next governor of the state, residents of the state, he added, will have the final say on who will be his successor and not ‘sense of entitlement’.
He had apparently said this in response to the assertions made by Minister of Power, Mr Adebayo Adelabu during an event in Ibadan, a few days ago.
‘I contested in 2019, and in 2023, so, in 2027, emi lo kan’, the minister, who is a leading APC guber aspirant, had submitted.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Governor Seyi Makinde, who subtly reacted to the assertions made by the minister while flagging off the zonal stakeholder consultative forum and engagement meeting on the 2026 Budget in Ibadan on Thursday, noted that ‘Oyo State has gone beyond the era of politics based on entitlement or propaganda’.
‘If we put anybody forward in our team, what it means is that we have evaluated that individual. It wouldn’t be about the individual per se. If within the team, we have a roadmap for continued development of Oyo State 2027 and beyond and we have people within that team that have already bought into it, that would be the best path forward.
Having said that, the decision on who would be the next governor rests with the people of Oyo State. We will make our own submission to the people, because Oyo State has gone beyond stunt politics. Maybe it used to happen in the past. Now, Oyo State people will ask you questions’ he added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
