Gov Nasiru  Idris Says He Owes Abubakar Malami ‘Debt Of Gratitude’

The governor of Kebbi state, who is also the Kauran Gwandu, Comrade Nasir Idris, has submitted that his political history would be incomplete without the input of the immediate past Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN.

He noted that the minister has played an important role at different times including his decision to venture into politics, his getting nominated as Kebbi state APC gubernatorial candidate and  his eventual  election  victory .

Dr. Nasir Idris’ media aide, Mr. Yahaya Sarki  noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the governor said   this while receiving the former Minister of Justice, who visited him at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi on Sunday.

The governor noted that although some people may not like  the idea of having hm say it publicly, but as a teacher, he would continue to say the truth and thank Abubakar Malami profoundly for facilitating the success of his political career.

Dr. Nasir Idris expressed joy that the former Justice Minister  delivered  on the mandate given to him by former President Muhammad Buhari with excellence, inspite of being the youngest person to  have occupied such a position in the history of Nigeria.

The governor added that Abubakar Malami has remained a good ambassador of the people of Kebbi state and has also complemented the effort of the government in uplifting the socio-economic wellbeing of the populace especially the less privileged through his philanthropy.

The Kauran Gwandu  noted that he was happy that an NGO  established by the Minister, Khadimiyya, has given succour to communities in all nooks and crannies of the state.

Dr. Nasir Idris, prayed Allah to open more opportunities for the Minister to continue to serve humanity.

Earlier, the former Minister of Justice, and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, had described his homecoming as special and exceptional.

He explained that his visit to the Government House was to congratulate Governor Nasir Idris on his  election victory and successful inauguration as  Chief Executive of Kebbi state while describing him as a friend and a colleague..

The former Minister remarked that the governor has hit the ground running by starting on sound footing as evident in the appointment of the Secretary to the State Government ,who has the capacity and ability to deliver in office.

In addition, the appointment of the pioneer APC State Chairman as his Chief of Staff  is also  worthy of commendation.

Abubakar Malami added that the people of Kebbi state sent him on an ambassadorial errand for the past eight years and he  has returned home with good results.

He expressed appreciation to God for guiding him successfully in the discharge of his ministerial responsibilities while extending immense  thanks  to Governor Nasir Idris and the people of the state for their support for him.

The former Minister restated  his commitment to offering necessary advice to the governor in steering the affairs of the state, acknowledging that Dr. Nasir Idris, has begun the task of governance as an achiever by inspecting legacy projects started by previous administrations for completion, such as the ongoing  multi-million naira new secretariat complex project at Gwadangaji, Birnin Kebbi.
