Governor Nasir Idris Flags Off Argungu Dual Carriageway Project As Works Commissioner Calls Him ‘Caterpillar of Development’

Kebbi State governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu on Tuesday flagged off the 6.4-kilometre dual carriageway Argungu Old Bypass Road project and the event was attended by the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera, and other dignitaries.
Governor Idris noted during the event that the project is in line with his campaign promises and also part of his administration’s urbanization and infrastructure development agenda.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted that the project will include the construction of drainages and the installation of solar streetlights.
The governor emphasized his commitment to ensuring that the work is carried out to the highest standards while disclosing that funding for the project has already been provided, with 40% of the total cost already approved.

‘I have already approved payment of 40% of the project cost, so, there will be no issues with funding’ Governor Idris assured.
He also promised that more road projects would be launched across various communities in Argungu, underscoring his desire to see Argungu Emirate develop as much as other emirate headquarters in the state.
The governor talked about his administration’s accomplishments, particularly in the education sector, and expressed appreciation for the continued support of the Argungu Emirate.
He also announced plans to renovate Argungu General Hospital, which is set to begin next week.
In his remarks, Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdullahi Umar Faruk, thanked Allah for the significant occasion and commended Governor Idris for making great strides while calling him ‘Caterpillar of Development’.
He commended the governor for fulfilling his campaign promises and for initiating numerous other infrastructure projects.
Engr. Faruk outlined the scope of the project, which includes the construction of an asphalt dual carriageway with side drains, culverts, demolition of structures within the right-of-way, installation of solar streetlights, and road markings.
The project cost is N7.23 billion while it will be executed by Amirco Universal Concept Ltd. with a completion timeline of 12 months.
The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammadu Mera, expressed his gratitude to Governor Idris for embarking on such a project in his domain.
He highlighted the governor’s contribution to various sectors, including education and flood victim rehabilitation while praying for continued peace and progress of the state.
Dr. Hassan Mahadi, Managing Director of Amirco Universal Concept Ltd., thanked Governor Idris for his confidence in the company and he has promised to deliver quality work.
