Govt Property : Osun PDP Accuses APC Of Engaging In Name-Dropping As Cover-Up Attempt

Osun state PDP has advised the state APC to stop their alleged antics of name-dropping and involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in matters in order to escape justice after allegedly taking away properties belonging to the state government .
The party had done this in reaction to the submissions made by the state APC chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal during the press conference he presided over in Osogbo on Monday.
Osun state PDP noted that Governor Ademola Adeleke would not be blackmailed into allowing willful acts of criminality perpetrated against the people of the state by officials of the immediate past APC administration to go unquestioned.
The party urged all affected former officials that served under Mr Gboyega Oyetola to return government property in their custody to the state, instead of pleading with President Tinubu to shield them from the long arm of the law that is about catching up with them.
The state PDP in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its chairman, Hon Sunday Bisi, condemned the claim by the opposition party on behalf of its stalwarts, that the said properties were released to them by former governor Gboyega Oyetola, describing this as an unguarded shame.
The party wondered where the former governor derived the powers to unilaterally release state assets to his aides when the same were not bought with his own money.
‘Panting around over the setting up of a government task force to recover the stolen properties, ordinarily should not cause anyone undue migraine. Those who are not guilty of stealing have nothing to fear.
We call on the APC to stop acting like lazy or prodigal robbers, who cannot survive without parasitic leaning on the commonwealth of others. They should leave the president out of the misfortunes they have brought upon themselves in the state.
We thank the good people of Osun state for refusing all attempts by the APC to draw them into conversations targeted at covering up overwhelming evidence of official stealing and malfeasance against them’ the party said.
The PDP commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for what it called his uncompromising commitment to the betterment of Osun state, urging him not to be distracted by antics of men of yesterday, wanting to relaunch themselves into impossible reckoning by force of deceptive crookery.
In separate statement, Governor Ademola Adeleke has also asserted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not support looting of public assets .
In a statement made available toTeam@orientactualmags.com by his Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke stated that the President has always commended him for cleaning up the mess he met in the state while also emphasizing that President Tinubu abhors looting of public assets.
‘I have interacted with President Tinubu a lot of times, and I know he appreciates my effort in cleaning up the many messes I encountered in Osun.
From the actions of the President, he has shown that he is a man of due process and, as such, will never support looting of public assets. It’s now unfortunate that Osun APC is showing acts that are contrary to the President’s governance style.
Moreso, at the inception of our government, I set up an Asset Recovery Committee, with most of those with government property alerted to the need to return them. It is now the report of the committee that Iam acting on as demanded by the good people of the state’ the statement noted that Governor Adeleke made this known to pressmen after meeting with the management team of Segilola Mining Company at the Governor’s office , Osogbo.
Governor Adeleke further asserted that since he took over, he has been governing the state without any partisan affiliation and has not taken any political adversaries to the anti-graft agencies even when there are clear reasons to do so.
He said his administration would leave no stone unturned to recover all looted government property while urging the appointees of the previous administration in the state to return all government property in their care-Team@orientactualmags.com
