Guber Primary: Osun PDP, APC Disagree Over Authenticity Of ‘Consensus List’ In Circulation

Osun State PDP and the state APC on Sunday disagreed over the authenticity of the ‘consensus list’ in circulation ahead of the latter’s gubernatorial primary election.

  The state PDP  had in a statement issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its state chairman, Chief Sunday Bisi  said  the consensus list of APC guber aspirants in circulation  is ‘another sign of confusion and desperation within a party that has completely lost touch with the people’. 

‘What they called consensus list is nothing but confusion packaged in the old way. The people have not forgotten their years of deception. Osun State will not go backward’  the statement said.

The party added that the ‘consensus list’ in question only confirms that the APC remains trapped in the politics of imposition and self-interest, while Osun State people have since moved forward under Governor Ademola Adeleke’s purposeful and people-oriented leadership.

‘Osun people know the difference between hardship and hope. They have tested both parties, and they are proudly standing with the PDP, the party that has restored light, dignity, and direction to governance through IMOLE’ the statement said.

Osun State PDP also said the party is upbeat about recording electoral victory in the 2026 guber election.

‘Our performance speaks for us. Our unity gives us strength. And the people’s love keeps us going.  In 2026/2027, the PDP will win again, not because of politics, but because of performance and the people’s conviction that Osun State must never return to the years of waste and sorrow’ the statement added.

In the meanwhile, the state APC has submitted that the ‘consensus list’ of guber aspirants that has gone viral on social media did not emanate from the party.

The party in a statement issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its spokesman, Chief Kola Olabisi not only described the ‘consensus list’ in circulation as fake but also accused the state PDP of producing the list in question.

 
‘The handlers of the hopeless party now go around concocting and circulating imaginary and fake list suggesting that the APC has assigned elective positions to certain individuals, a roguery and drudgery we believe is meant to cause disharmony and division in our party. 

That an official statement, affirming the fake list, could emanate from the state chairman of the ruling PDP is to show the abyss into which the PDP has dipped and the satiric desperation of the party to win re-election next year.

The publication of the false statement by the PDP handlers is a pointer to the fact that they are jittery and they have lost the forthcoming governorship election in the state before it is held’ the statement said.

The state APC also urged party members to ignore the consensus list of guber aspirants in question while cautioning against schism, and disunity.

‘We want to inform our esteemed members and supporters that our party did not compile any consensus list of candidates for the next election’ the statement noted.
