Gunmen Abduct Oyo APC Bigwig In Ibadan
Wale Oriade, one of the Oyo State APC bigwigs, has been abducted by gunmen in Ibadan, the state capital, and his whereabouts had since become unknown.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the gunmen kidnapped Mr Wale Oriade at PJ Square Shopping Complex, beside the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited station, Elewure, along Iyana Ajanla, Akala Expressway, New Garage, Ibadan where his office is located.
The incident occurred at about 7:06 pm on Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses said two men arrived in a blue Micra vehicle and one of them who was fully armed, forcibly seized Oriade and they took him away using the same vehicle.
The state APC in a statement issued in Ibadan on Thursday, confirmed the incident and called for the immediate intervention of the Nigeria Police Force.
The statement, jointly signed by the APC Oyo South Senatorial Chairman, Mojeed Olaoya, and the state Youth Leader, John Aremu, urged the police to launch a swift, coordinated, and intelligence-driven rescue operation.
‘A timely rescue will not only bring relief to the Oriade family but also reassure the people of the state that the police command remains proactive and committed to the protection of lives and property.
The party appreciates the efforts of the command in maintaining law and order and urges heightened vigilance during this critical time’ the statement said.
Former Senate Leader, Chief Teslim Folarin has also in a short statement he issued on Thursday, condemned the incident describing it as shocking and unacceptable.
‘This is a deeply troubling development. I urge our security agencies to deploy all necessary intelligence and resources to secure his prompt release. My prayers are with his family during this difficult time’ he said.
Chief Folarin also emphasized the need for tighter security collaboration across the state to curb the growing wave of kidnappings while urging residents to remain calm and provide credible information to aid the rescue operation-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
