Gwandu Monarch Commends Gov Idris For Transforming Palace Mosque
The Emir of Gwandu, retired Major General Muhammadu Iliyasu-Bashar, has commended Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State for taking the Sarkin Gwandu Mosque renovation project to completion which has enhanced its appearance and functionality.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted that the Emir gave this commendation during the reopening ceremony of the mosque, located within the emir’s palace in Birnin Kebbi, after the Jumu’at prayer on Friday.
He noted that while the renovation project was initiated by the previous administration, it was however successfully completed under Governor Idris’ leadership adding that the project has not only improved the appearance of the mosque but also equipped it with modern facilities, ensuring comfort for the worshippers.
Iliyasu-Bashir urged the mosque committee to prioritize proper maintenance of the facilities to ensure their longevity.
The Emir also called on traders and the wealthy people to fear God in their dealings, especially the high food prices despite the ongoing harvest season.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the Friday prayer, Engr. Manir Musa Jega, who is the CEO of M-Tech Concept Engineering and Construction Company, the firm that handled the mosque’s renovation project, praised Governor Idris for giving local contractors the opportunity to handle state projects.
This, he noted, would create more job opportunities and empower indigenous contractors.
