Hajj 2024: We’ve Taken Necessary Steps To Ensure Kebbi Pilgrims Fly From Birni Kebbi To Jeddah-Gov Idris

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi state has submitted that his administration has provided all the financial supports required to ensure that the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi, is used for flight operations during the 2024 Hajj exercise.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yahaya Sarki noted that Idris said this during the visit of the Chairman of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) , Alhaji Jalal Ahmad-Arabi, to the Government House, Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.

‘I have paid all that is required as I want our intending pilgrims to depart from here.
That is why, I ordered for the establishment of Aviation Fuel Depot, to enable aircraft to refuel here for convenience’ the governor said.
Idris also appreciated the operational efficiency of Flynas Airline which evacuated all pilgrims from the state direct to Madina, in Saudi Arabia during the 2023 Hajj exercise.
On the issue of Hajj fares, the governor said all hajj fares paid by intending pilgrims in the state were immediately transferred to NAHCON’s Bank account without delay.
‘I have no reason to put such fares into deposit account to generate interest.
The money is not government’s money; it belongs to the people who are farmers, herders and traders who have toiled over the years to gather the fares to enable them discharge their religious obligation’ he said.
Idris also described the appointment of Ahmad-Arabi as NAHCON Chairman by President Ahmed Tinubu as meritorious based on his track records in the Federal Civil Service.
‘I will give you every possible assistance to succeed in the mandate of managing the affairs of NAHCON which is an important government agency’ he said.
He also expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Chairman of the state Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruk Musa-Yaro, since his appointment as head of the agency.
‘I expanded the board membership of the agency which is unprecedented since the creation of the state to pave way for the agency to perform its operations diligently and be of service to the people’ the governor said.
Earlier, Ahmad-Arabi, had in his speech thanked the state government under Governor Idris’ leadership for facilitating the activities of the commission by being the leading state in the federation to discharge its obligations with regard to preparations for the hajji exercise.
‘I am here in Kebbi, to thank you, Mr governor, and to inspect facilities at the airport and the Hajj Camp preparatory to the commencement of the 2024 pilgrimage exercise.
I am saying congratulations in advance that the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport will be used for the 2024 hajj operations.
Mr. Governor, I am also here to commend the Chairman of the pilgrims agency in the state, Musa-Yaro, for performing excellently, he has now become my closest confidant in respect of the hajj exercise’ he said.
In his remarks, Musa-Yaro, commended the governor for providing all requests, including running costs of the agency which made it become the best in the country.
He added that the NAHCON national chairman has given the needed support and encouragement towards ensuring a smooth and hitch- free hajj exercise- Team@orientactualmags.com
