Head Prefect: Anambra Govt Sanctions School For Asking Pupils To Pay N5,000 Expression Of Interest Fee

A school in Anambra State, Blossom Fount School, Awka, has been sanctioned by the state government for asking pupils seeking to get appointed as Head Prefect to pay N5,000 expression of interest fee.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that this was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh on Saturday.
The commissioner described what the school has done as ‘despicable’ while condemning the attempt to commercialize student leadership and exploit the ambitions of the young children.
‘Investigation is going on to know how the school is being run. It is an act of selling the psyche of the children to the highest bidder from the cradle, and it is not acceptable to this government.
The act of commercializing student leadership and exploiting children’s ambitions for financial gain is despicable. It amounts to selling the psyche of the children to the highest bidder from the cradle, and this is strongly condemned’ the commissioner submitted while adding that the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration remains committed to upholding integrity and fairness within the education system, such practices will therefore not be tolerated-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
