A member of the House of Representatives, Rep Lawrence Ayeni , has revealed how prominent Nigerians including Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who is the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), had made unsuccessful attempts to settle the rift between the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Ayeni, who represents Ilesha West/Ilesha East, Atakumosa East/Atakumosa West Federal Constituency, said this in Abuja on Monday.
Ayeni added that one of them failed to show up at a reconciliation meeting that was at the instance of Pastor Adeboye.
The federal lawmaker noted that although Adeboye initially declined to intervene because he is not a politician but later accepted the suggestion that he should get involved.
‘Adeboye said he is not a politician and he was not going to poke-nose because of certain things adding that the two of them could however meet in his house.
Had it been they were able to meet with him may be the crisis would have been over.
One of them did not even go for the scheduled meeting with Adeboye and the cleric said well, that is it’ he said.
Rep Ayeni said party bigwigs including former interim Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, former Governor Segun Osoba and even the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had also tried to settle the rift to no avail.
All the APC House of Representatives members in Osun state also according to him did their best to also resolve the differences but met a brick wall.
Ayeni said no one could actually explain what went wrong and strained the once upon a time excellent relationship adding that it was better the rift between the governor and the minister was settled so that it would not affect the party in the general election-Team@orientactualmags.com
