Hundreds of PDP members in Argungu and Zuru Local Governments , Kebbi state formally left the party for the APC on Wednesday.
The decampees comprising youth leaders and women leaders, announced decision to leave the PDP during the defection ceremony held at the State APC Secretariat , Birnin Kebbi where the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Kana Zuru, the Chairman, APC Elders’ Forum, Alhaji Sani Hukuma Zauro, Zannan Gwandu and other party executives formally received the decampees into the party.
Two women leaders from Kokani North Ward, Argungu; Hajiya Hadiza Garba and Hajiya Sahura, Youth leaders from Sauwa Ward; Abdullahi Kaura, Sani Yusuf, and Isa Abubakar, Abdulmalik Tungar Marina, Abubakar Danbawada and Garba Bawa from Alwasa ward, and Iliyasu Alfa, Tukur Demba, Hajiya Tuni Alhassan, Adamu Alhassan and Salihu Yusuf from Lailaba Ward all gave speeches at the event and gave plausible reasons for defecting to the APC.

Governor Atiku Bagudu’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the defectors cited injustice, lies, and uncaring attitude on the part of the PDP leaders submitting that ‘the PDP is now history in Argungu Local Government’.
The decampees remarked that the excellent record of achievements of Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu especially when it comes to roads construction which had transformed rural areas into viable economic entities was a major attraction for their defection to the ruling party.
They also acknowledged the efforts of Alhaji Sahabi Lolo, APC, Zonal Vice-Chairman, Kebbi North, particularly the developmental strides of the Chairman of Argungu Local Government Council, Alhaji Salihu Ahmad K.C, who was instrumental in their joining the APC.
Presenting the decampees to the State APC Chairman, the Argungu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Salihu Ahmad K.C, commended Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for his exemplary leadership through which he had promoted unity, progress, prosperity, peace, security and economic growth, and had made the people of Kebbi state to rally round the state government.
He described the PDP decampees as active and effective party machinery whose decision to join the APC would ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming general election in Argungu Emirate.
Hundreds of PDP members in Zuru Emirate were also formally received by the APC leadership at the party Secretariat, Birnin Kebbi, on Wednesday.
Those who commented on their decision to defect to the ruling party included a youth leader, Isa Wade, Mr. Majo Koro, Mr. Maisamari Dogo, Alhaji Nura Maifata, Abubakar Sa’idu and Mr. Dagana’o.
They were highly critical of the PDP, describing it as a loose party that lacks unity of purpose .
The decampess commended Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Kana Zuru, for implementing the cardinal policy of the APC which includes development, societal growth and well-being of the citizenry.
They assured the APC leadership that they would faithfully join hands to work for the success of the party in Zuru in the 2023 general election .
Addressing the PDP decampees, the Chairman, APC Elders’ Forum, Alhaji Sani Hukuma Zauro, Zannan Gwandu, welcomed them to the APC, assuring that they would enjoy equal rights and privileges in the party.
