Hunger Protest: Don’t Get Involved, Kebbi Govt Urges Civil Servants, Young Kebbians

Kebbi state Government has cautioned young people and civil servants in the state against participating in the planned nationwide  hunger protest.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that  the  state Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena,  said this during the press conference he presided over in Brinin Kekbi, on Thursday. .

He said, ‘Kebbi state Government has started a good work in the last one year.

So, the young people should not draw the hand of the clock back under the disguise of a protest’.

Bena noted that there is every tendency for hoodlums and other destructive elements to use the platform offered by the planned protest for their own egocentric interests.

‘These unpatriotic elements will hijack the protest for their own personal aggrandizement.

The Federal and Kebbi state Governments have recorded tremendous achievements in one year and this development should not be jeopardized’ he said.

Bena listed such achievements to include  road projects, renovation of schools, among others.

‘These are laudable projects which should be safeguarded and not destroyed’ he added.

The HOS, however acknowledged that it is the constitutional right of the citizens to engage in a peaceful demonstration.

‘It is however unconstitutional to use this for selfish reasons or violence.

Therefore, the youths should be cautious so as not to cause any havoc and infringe on anybody’s right.
