Ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election in Kebbi state, APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has promised to deliver desired dividends of democracy if elected as governor in March this year.
Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu’s Special Adviser on Media ,Mr Yahaya Sarki in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Wednesday noted that Dr Nasir Idris, who is the Kauran Gwandu made the pledge in Kangiwa, headquarters of Arewa Local Government on Tuesday while addressing hundreds of APC supporters at the Kebbi North Zonal campaign rally.
APC supporters and members from Argungu, Augie, Arewa, Dandi, Suru and Bagudo local Governments attended the campaign rally in large numbers.
He told the mammoth crowd of APC supporters that the people of Kebbi state would not regret voting for him and his running mate, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida if they do.
The APC guber candidate reiterated that he would run a people- oriented government that would make Kebbi people happy by embarking on tangible projects that would have significant impact on their lives.
‘If you vote for Kaura and Tafida, you will not regret doing that, we will carry out meaningful projects for the development of the state.
Our campaign is going to be issue- based, but we will not tolerate distortion of facts and lies from our opponents’ he said.
He further said that his track record of service to people of Kebbi state before joining politics was there for all to see.
‘My record as NUT State Chairman and National President, as a labour unionist, as someone that has provided humanitarian assistance to the people, the free medical outreach I have sponsored as well as giving necessary supports to the IDPs are all known by the people of Kebbi state and beyond.
My educational records are clear, I have worked as a civil servant for 35 years in Kebbi state, I challenge my opponent to come forward with his record of achievement to the people of Kebbi state, it is what he has done for them to change their lives for good’ he emphasized.
Responding to what the PDP gubernatorial candidate had said about him, Dr. Nasir Idris said whatever position his opponent attained in the military, was premised on the education he had received from his teachers.
The Kauran Gwandu added that he spent thirty-five years in Kebbi state civil service during which he had helped several people to get employed as teachers or civil servants in his capacity as chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT and the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.
He told the gathering that this was unlike his opponent who has been away from the people throughout his sojourn in the military.
Dr. Idris asserted that voting for him and other APC candidates would be the right thing to do by Kebbi people.
He promised to sustain the good legacy left by Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of developing all sectors of the state.
The APC Deputy Governorship candidate , Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida also thanked the people of Kangiwa for coming out in large numbers to support the APC .
He restated the commitment of APC- led government under Kauran Gwandu if elected, to bettering the lives of people in the state.
Earlier, the Director General of the Kebbi state APC Campaign Council , former governor Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, expressed profound appreciation to the people of Arewa for coming out in large numbers to attend the rally .
He said the massive crowd that attended the campaign was an indication that the people of Kangiwa were for the APC and not any other political party as being speculated .
He urged the people of the area to vote for Kauran Gwandu and other APC candidates.
‘Think deep before you cast your vote, cast your vote for Kauran Gwandu and other APC candidates.
Kauran Gwandu is a man of integrity who has served the people for 35 years. Our candidate, Kauran Gwandu is respected, accepted and loved by people’ Dakingari said .
In their separate remarks, Dr . Hussaini Kangiwa, who is Kebbi North APC senate candidate, Hon Garba Rabiu Kamba, Dandi/Arewa APC House of Representatives candidate, and the House of Assembly candidate, Hon. Nura Kangiwa, all appreciated the large turnout of people at the campaign rally.
They asserted that Arewa Local Government and beyond belongs to the APC 100 per cent and not any other party.
The APC Chairman in Arewa local Government , Alhaji Sani Zamarke and the Council Chairman , Hon. Sani Aliyu Tela Kulita berated the PDP for claiming to be the popular party in Kangiwa which is the stronghold of the APC.
