I Made Atiku Choose Obi As Running mate In 2019, Why I Took A Decision To Destroy ‘Obidient Movement’- Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, a popular social commentator, has declared that he is resolutely committed to destroying the ‘Obidient Movement’ because he felt incensed at some developments and scenarios that were enacted by some of the supporters of the former Anambra State governor.

Members of the Obidient Movement are supporters of Chief Peter Obi, who was the LP presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Omokri  while speaking during a Breakfast Central on Thursday, also noted that he felt angry because his past roles were not appreciated.

‘I took a vow to destroy that movement because Peter Obi was a project of mine.

 I was responsible for Peter Obi becoming the running mate to Waziri Atiku Abubakar in 2019.

I’ve said this publicly. I’ve got the documents. I’m a meticulous record keeper’ he said.

While noting that he had done this alongside former Senator Ben Murray-Bruce and a former president, Omokri also condemned the conduct of Obi’s supporters.

‘Peter Obi’s movement, Obidients, started attacking me, threatening me, insulting me. That was OK.

But then they moved from myself to my family. I just had a daughter at that time. There were multiple death threats.

They came to my house in the United Kingdom. They trailed my wife and me when we were jogging.

They found out my jogging route and pursued me, threatening me’ he alleged.

Omokri said Obi looked the other way whilst this was happening while he had expected him to intervene.
