I Visited President Tinubu To Discuss IPOB, Kanu Not ‘Party Switching’-Abia Governor

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has clarified and submitted that his visit to the Presidential Villa on Tuesday was to discuss matters that have to do with Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) with President Bola Tinubu and nothing more.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the governor made the clarification in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma in reaction to the assertions made by a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state, Charles Ogbonnaya that he (Otti) had met with the president to discuss his planned defection to the APC ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Recall that Kanu had recently gotten a life sentence and Governor Otti had visited him in Sokoto Custodial Centre.

‘The governor subsequently had a meeting with the president after visiting the IPOB leader at the Sokoto Correctional Centre on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

This is in continuation of earlier meetings the governor had been having with the FG on this matter in the past two years.
