Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike, Mr Samuel Anyanwu, Barrister Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), former Governor Ayo Fayose, Austin Nwachukwu, and others were expelled from the party.
The PDP bigwigs in attendance and the other delegates cited anti-party activities.

The motion for their expulsion was moved by former Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Bode George while it was seconded by chairman of Bauchi State chapter, Hon Samaila Buga.
The party has also commented about this via social media posts.
‘In a landmark move to restore unity, discipline, and focus ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at its ongoing 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, has expelled high-profile members Nyesom Wike, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), former Governor Ayo Fayose, Austin Nwachukwu, and several others.
The decision, which was promptly ratified by an overwhelming majority of delegates, underscores the party’s commitment to eradicating internal divisions and anti-party conduct that have plagued its progress’ the party submitted..

The 68 delegates from Kwara State staged a walkout after former Senator Ben Obi moved a motion that delegates should go ahead and choose new leaders for the party.
Obi called for a voice vote after moving the motion at 5.48 pm and this had gotten the support of majority of the delegates, the Kwara delegates including the state chairman, Hon Adamu Bawa, former state lawmaker, Hon Balogun Fulani, former state chairman, Hon Kola Shittu, and Hajia Nimata Ibrahim immediately staged a walkout.

Governors Bala Mohammed, Dauda Lawal, Ahmadu Fintiri, Seyi Makinde and Caleb Muftwang and the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kola Adewusi attended the convention.

In an interview with Team@orientactualmags.com Osun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Dosu Babatunde said PDP remains a popular party in the State of the Living Spring citing Governor Ademola Adeleke’s development strides.
He praised the visible development strides made on the governor’s watch which are geared towards sustainable economic development of the state.

‘PDP remains a popular party in Osun State, the people of the state love Asiwaju Ademola Adeleke, who is a ‘talk and do’ governor and who has done a lot to change the face of the state. The workers are happy, every segment of society is happy, the governor has ensured faithful implementation of his 5-point agenda and what he has done in three years in respect of accomplishments has surpassed what the APC administrations did in the state for 12 years’ he added.

In the meanwhile, signs emerged on Saturday night that the expulsion of Wike and others from the party is shaky as Governor Caleb Muftwang and Governor Ahmadu Fintiri submitted that they are not in support of the decision to expel them while noting that it is not the best course of action.
Governor Mutfwang noted that the matter was neither deliberated upon by the Governors’ Forum nor the NEC before being the decision taken on Saturday.
‘The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has formally distanced himself from the expulsion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Governor of Rivers State, Barr. Nyesom Wike, former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, and Senator Samuel Anyanwu, alongside other leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’ Governor Muftwang’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere submitted in a statement he issued on Saturday.
‘I, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State, wish to categorically state that I dissociate myself from the position of expelling the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Wike, from the PDP.
I believe that this decision is not in the best interest of the party, and I will not be party to any attempt that could further plunge the PDP into unending crisis.
As a faithful party member, my position is clear: I stand for the peace and stability of the PDP, and I will not support anything that could lead to its disintegration.
I urge all stakeholders to work towards healing the divisions within the party and to strive for unity and cohesion. As a party man, I am committed to supporting efforts that promote peace, stability and progress within the PDP.
Let me reiterate that my position is guided by the desire for peace and reconciliation, and I will continue to work towards achieving this goal’ Governor Fintiri also submitted in an X.com post-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
