Ibrahim Mohammed Takes Over As New MERA Chairman, Promises To Build On Ganiyu Oloyin’s Achievements

Malam Ibrahim Salahu Mohammed was on Saturday sworn in as Chairman of the Mandate Estate Residents Association, (MERA), Ilorin, Kwara State and he has promised to build on the achievements recorded by his immediate predecessor, Alhaji Ganiyu Oloyin and those before him while noting that he would be setting the wheels in motion.

He has also urged co-residents to give his exco the needed support and cooperation.
Malam Ibrahim Salahu Mohammed said this while giving his speech during the year-end party organized by the association on Saturday,
The new chairman has sought support for his exco while urging the residents to ensure prompt payment of ‘development levy’ noting that this will help the new exco to take care of its obligations and recurrent expenditures.

Mandate Estate is located in Olorunsogo area of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the outgoing chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Oloyin thanked residents of the estate for giving maximum support to his exco while urging them to extend the same level of support to the new exco.

Wishing residents of the estate a prosperous year and giving account of his stewardship, he listed accomplishments recorded on his watch to include ongoing clinic project, registration of the association with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), creation of website, enhancement of Security Architecture through installation of CCTV, purchase of walkie–talkie, reconstruction of fallen fences, repair of damaged culvert, purchase of Complete Pumping machine and good welfare package for the staff of the estate.
Alhaji Ganiyu Oloyin, a lecturer at the Kwara state College of Education, Oro,, specially thanked Mr. Gbenga Popoola, Engr. Kola Abubakar, Alh. Ibraheem Danasabe, Alh. Jimoh Tijani Danjuma Alh. Alaba Bakery, Alh. Hassan Alasirin, Alh. Yaa Sheu, Abdulbasit Abdulrahman , Dr. Abdulrasaq Abdulkadir, Alh. Tajudeen Olabanji, Mal. Taiye Giwa,. Mr. Segun Adeniyi, Alh. Fatai Odesile, Alh. Bashir Karimu and Barr. Malik Abdulmajeed for their support for his exco and their commitment to the development and progress of the estate.



Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Soliu Jimoh , commended the outgoing Exco for doing wonderfully well while urging the new MERA leaders to sustain the tempo of achievements.
Also speaking, the General Manager of Kwara State Housing Corporation, Hajia Ramat Ibrahim said the agency will continue to take necessary steps to protect the interests of the residents of the estate while urging them to involve the housing corporation in all that they do once it has to do with buildings in the estate.

She warned against building alterations and change of ownership without the knowledge of the agency.
