IDPD 2025: 1,000 PWDs To Receive ‘Special Package’ From Kebbi Govt
Kebbi State Government through the Ministry of Special Duties has concluded arrangements to hold a special programme in commemoration of the 2025 International Day of Persons with Disabilities tomorrow, Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
Governor Nasir Idris’ Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement he made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the state Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Zayyanu Umar Aliero, disclosed this during the press conference he presided over in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
According to him, the state government, in collaboration with the wife of the President, has made adequate preparations to ensure that persons with disabilities across Kebbi State benefit meaningfully from the programme.
He noted that the event that has as its theme ‘Fostering Disability inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress’ aligns with the global celebration and aims to promote inclusion, empowerment and support for vulnerable groups.
The commissioner further noted that the wife of the President, through her Renewed Hope Initiative, has contributed ’empowerment packages’ for 250 persons with disabilities while the Kebbi State Government has approved a special capital grant of ₦100,000 each for 650 persons with disabilities, as part of its commitment to improving livelihoods and economic independence.
He added that the State Government has also provided 100 units of solar tricycles to further enhance mobility and economic empowerment for beneficiaries.
Hon. Zayyanu noted that these interventions bring the total number of beneficiaries to 1,000, comprising the 250 beneficiaries from the Renewed Hope Initiative, 650 recipients of the special capital grant, and 100 beneficiaries of the solar tricycles.
He further disclosed that the First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has also supported the programme with 1,000 bags of rice, ensuring that each beneficiary will receive one bag as part of the ‘support package’.
