Ignore Fake News, Akume Remains SGF-Onanuga
Former governor of Benue State, Chief George Akume remains the Secretary to the Government of the Federation while Hadiza Bala Usman is still President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy and Coordination, the presidency clarified on Saturday night.
The presidency had done this in reaction to the rumours spread earlier in the day that Akume had been asked to take over as APC National Chairman while Hadiza will be his replacement.
Recall that former governor of Kano State , Alhaji Abdulahi Ganduje, who was the APC National Chairman, had resigned from his position on Friday.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the presidency made the clarification through a statement issued by the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga while describing the social media report as fake and urging members of the public to disregard it.
‘There has been no change in the status of His Excellency, Senator George Akume, as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, currently in Saint Lucia, has not made any new appointments.
The information circulating about Akume’s replacement is untrue. Agents of mischief fabricated it.
