Ignore Media Reports, I Remain Speaker Of Lagos Assembly- Mojisola Meranda
Hon Mojisola Meranda has dismissed media reports claiming that she has resigned from her position as Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Meranda’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Segun Ajiboye, made this clarification while reacting to the rumours on Wednesday.
‘I’m in the office. The speaker is in the office. I don’t know where that is coming from’ he said.
Apart from media reports claiming that Meranda has resigned from her position, there was also a viral letter dated February 17, 2025, in which the lawmaker allegedly noted that she will call it quit..
Recall that Meranda had become the new Speaker following the removal of Hon Mudashiru Obasa, during the plenary session held by the lawmakers on Monday, January 13, 2025.
Hon Mudashiru Obasa , who had won a sixth term in March 2023, and had on June 6,2023, gotten elected as Speaker for the third time, had however returned to the country to assert that he remains the Speaker.
Hon Mojisola Meranda, has under her belt, a special achievement-she is the first woman to head the state parliament.
