Ignore Rumours, ‘Rotational Headship’ For Osun Council Of Obas Was Never ‘Under Consideration’-Speaker Egbedun
Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Adewale Egbedun clarified and submitted on Monday that ‘rotational headship’ for the state Council of Obas and Chiefs was never ‘under consideration’ while describing assertions that a letter was sent to the parliament in this regard as untrue and incorrect.

Recall that social media users in the country especially the Facebook users including Omo Ade Media TV had on Monday claimed in Facebook posts that Osun State parliament is considering a legislation that will recommend ‘rotational headship’ for the state Council of Obas and Chiefs.

Since the creation of Osun State on August 27, 1991, occupants of Ife throne have served as ‘Permanent Chairman’ of the Council of Obas and Chiefs.
The reigning Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi is currently the Permanent Chairman of the Council of Obas and Chiefs.
Speaker Adewale Egbedun however told Team@orientactualmags.com on Monday afternoon that ‘it is a lie from the pit of hell’ to claim that a letter was sent to the parliament requesting ‘rotational headship’ for the state Council of Obas.
He clarified and submitted the House of Assembly is not looking into such an issue as claimed by some social media users while also calling it ‘propaganda from the APC folks’ .
‘How can we consider ‘rotational headship’ for the Council of Obas when we have the revered Ooni of Ife in our state.
