Ignore Social Media Posts, No Decision Yet On ‘New’ States-Akpabio
The Senate has urged Nigerians to ignore social media posts claiming that the National Assembly has completed the process of dividing existing states into new ones and already approved the creation of some new states.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the senate president made the clarification during the plenary session held on Tuesday after Senator Abdul Ningi had called attention to social media posts claiming that new states have been approved which had made some communities to begin to convene meetings in anticipation.
The Senate President however clarified that the Senate Committee on Constitution Review has received many proposals while none among them has reached the stage of approval.
‘I have seen over 42 proposals, but not one has gone through full deliberation.
