IGP Egbetokun, Lanre Onilu, Yusuf Ali, Other Dignitaries To Attend Lanre Osho’s Book Launch In Ilorin December 29

A human rights activist, Comrade Mashood Lanre Osho, will on December 29, 2024,launch his new book ‘The Voice of Change: A Call for Transparency and Accountability – Lessons from Nigeria’s August Protests’ in Ilorin , the Kwara State capital.
It is his 3rd book.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the event will hold at the KCDI Secretariat, behind Flower Garden, GRA, Ilorin.
The statement added that IGP Egbetokun, who will give a keynote address at the event, will speak on why security agencies often fear protests and the strategies for policing protests.
‘Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu, who is the Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) will share his thoughts on how citizens can approach the government in a civil manner and efforts of the present government to deliver dividends of democracy while a former Speaker of Kwara State house of assembly, Prof Ali Babatunde Ahmad will examine the necessity of getting a police permit before staging a protest and why government at all levels often fear protests which is a fundamental right in any democratic society .
Barrister Iyiola Akogun Oyedepo will discuss Kwara State’s journey in the past and present, drawing from his expertise as a political scientist, farmer, and a lawyer while Comrade Issa Aremu, the Director General of Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies, will give his take on whether work-related issues should feature protest or not, why protests are often the last resort, and why government at all levels do fear work stoppage.
Their contributions will undoubtedly provide valuable insights and actionable plans for the government at all levels, ultimately contributing to Nigeria’s development.
