The new Chairman of the Governing Council of Osun state College of Education, Ila Orangun, Elder Peter Adebayo Babalola ,has assumed office.
Elder Peter Babalola comes to the job with a ‘rich experience’, having at different times served as Commissioner for Agriculture, Chief of Staff, Government House, and Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission.
It was his first day in office on Monday and he was accompanied by supporters, associates and friends.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Tuesday noted that the popular politician had on arrival in the ancient town visited the Orangun of Ila’s palace where he paid homage to His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Wahab Olukayode Oyedotun Bibiire I . He had done this in recognition of the importance of having a good relationship with the people of the town to aid the realization of the institution’s vision statement.
In his speech, the Ila Orangun monarch recalled his long- standing relationship and friendship with the Governing Council chairman disclosing that he ‘is particularly happy with the Adeleke family’ because Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has shown more than a passing interest when it comes to matters affecting the development of Ila and his health noting that he had gotten necessary supports to manage his poor health and ‘he is now evidently hale and hearty’.
Oba Abdul Wahab Olukayode Oyedotun however lamented poor infrastructure at the college of education, submitting that the economy of Ila rests significantly on situation of things at the institution and he jocularly mentioned that just like ‘he is now in a good state of health‘ , the College of Education in his domain would also run efficiently like it had been.
He thanked Governor Adeleke for appointing Elder Peter Adebayo Babalola as Chairman of the Governing Council asserting that he has a history of leaving footprints on the sands of time wherever he serves.
Elder Babalola later left the palace for the College of Education where he held important meetings with top officials of the institution.
In his welcome speech, the Provost, Professor Afolabi Atanda welcomed Babalola with open arms while pledging the cooperation of all stakeholders in the institution for an effective transformation on his watch.
Babalola was accompanied by Honourable Akin Titiloye, a former commissioner in the state and a one -time Chairman of the institution’s Governing Council, Chief Kolapo Lawal, a PDP Chieftain in Ila, PDP Chairman , Ila Local Government , Mr. Ganiyu Olaitan, State PDP Deputy Woman Leader, Sheri Ajide, Mr. Banji Ayandiran , former PDP Secretary , Ila Local Government, Mr. Luke Iyadunni, Dr Ibiyemi and other party faithful –Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
