I’ll Fight Corruption With Ease, Spend One Term If Elected President-Peter Obi…Why We Want Him Back In PDP-Gov Bala

Former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi has once again, restated his commitment to keeping his word in respect of not seeking re-election if he becomes the nation’s president.

He has also asserted that he will fight corruption without difficulty.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Mr Peter Obi, who was the LP presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election, said this during a talk show session on youth and leadership opportunities he held with students at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, on Friday.

‘We are talking about corruption, but let me tell you, fighting corruption is not as difficult as people make it look.

If you, your wife, and children are not stealing, you have reduced corruption by 60 per cent.

I have served as chairman of a bank at a time when most people who were directors of banks were busy taking loans from their banks.

Go and check any bank where I was a director or chairman, where that bank gave me a loan as a director. Go and check whether there was anything missing while I was there.

I served as governor of a state for eight years, and I challenge everybody to go and show me where one kobo of Anambra State that I’m not entitled to was linked to me.

If I have the opportunity to serve as Nigeria’s president in 2027, I will do so for only four years. It can be less, but it will never be more. I will not stay a day longer than four years.

People say, what can you do in four years? There is a lot you can do in four years because you can bring civility and laws that start good governance in four years’ he said.

Mr Peter Obi also visited the governor of the state, Alhaji Bala Mohammed at the Bauchi Government House on Friday.

Governor Bala Mohammed, who emphasized the need for the opposition parties to present a common front ahead of the 2027 presidential election, also urged Mr Peter Obi to return to PDP.

Bala Mohammed is the Chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum.

‘We have to harmonise our interests in the interest of the people of Nigeria.

The opposition must come together. This ADC, PDP and even the remaining political parties should come together.

And we don’t even hate the present administration. We wish they would do better, but as I discussed with you, there’s no budget. There is no plan. Everything is about politics from day one.

And we have to be cautious, not to disparage our people. We have to unite the opposition, our ego and our interests. So that we can present a common front to compete and to make sure that we go to the Promised Land.

There is a lot of hunger and anger. And we don’t want to cause so many disparaging movements.

So, please come back. That’s where you belong. Don’t go anywhere that is in disarray’ he said.

Giving his speech, Mr Peter Obi, who said he visited Bauchi to interact with youths at colleges of health Technology and the Almajiris, noted that sequel to his interaction with them, he is satisfied with their potential.

‘Our politics must change. It has to be politics of development, Politics of competence, politics of capacity and compassion, where we care for other people’ he later told journalists.

Mr Peter Obi said he visited Bala Mohammed ‘to talk about the problems of the country and how we can solve it together?’

The former Anambra State governor also justified the existence of ‘opposition alliance’ against President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

‘Alliance is not for power grabbing, but to bring about changes and development’ he said.

Mr Peter Obi donated N15 million to Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences and Intisharu Islamic and Quranic Memorization School , Bauchi, N10 million to Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences and N5 million to Intisharu Islam Quranic Memorization School.

‘You are very important to this country, and if there is anything we can do to support what you are doing, we need to do it.

The nurse is more important than the doctor. The nurse knows the patient, the nurse owns the patient, the nurse is everything’ Mr Peter Obi submitted while announcing that of Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
