Ilorin Resident’s Stolen Car Recovered From 52-Year-Old Man In Ibadan As Police Impersonator Gets Arrested While Trying To Steal Turkey In Omu-Aran

Olatunji Samson, who is 52 years old, has been arrested and taken into custody by the police in Kwara State.

He was arrested while trying to buy a Lexus RX-350 car that was forcefully taken away after robbers attacked the residence of Bamikole Ipeoluwa Emmanuel at Maigida Estate, Amoyo, Kwara State on November 21, 2025.

The state police chief, Mr. Adekimi Ojo, a Commissioner of Police, who disclosed this while presiding over the press conference held at the police headquarters, Ilorin on Friday which was attended by journalists including Team@orientactualmags.com, added that a manhunt has been launched for the gang members who are still on the run.

‘On 21st November 2025, at about 2100hrs, the Command received a distress call from Maigida Estate, Amoyo, reporting a violent home invasion by armed men. The assailants forcefully entered the residence, inflicted injuries on the victim and his private security guard, restrained them, and carted away valuables including a Lexus RX-350, 10,000 US Dollars, ₦2,950,000 in cash, high-end mobile phones, gold jewellery, clothing items, and other personal effects.

Acting promptly and in strict compliance with the IGP’s intelligence-driven policing, cops attached to the Command initiated a coordinated intelligence-driven investigation. This effort led to the interception of the suspects in Ibadan, Oyo State, where they were attempting to sell the stolen Lexus vehicle for ₦15 million. One suspect, Olatunji Samson, aged 52 was arrested.

 Two Lexus RX-350 vehicles were recovered during the operation. The arrested suspect confessed to having previously received four stolen vehicles from the same criminal syndicate.

The Command assures members of the public that the investigation is ongoing, and a focused manhunt is underway to apprehend the fleeing gang members’ he said.

CP Adekimi Ojo also disclosed that a chap, Imole Toyin is wanted by the police for leading others to rob a resident of Basin area of Ilorin and not only took away her car and mobile phones but also forcefully entered her ‘sanctuary’.

Two among the criminals; Ibrahim Abubakar and Dele Emmanuel have since been arrested and taken into custody.

‘On 26th November 2025, at about 1420hrs, Mrs. Daniel (not real name) reported that at approximately 0200hrs, a gang of three armed robbers forcefully entered her residence on Basin Road, Ilorin, during which they stole a Toyota Camry and mobile phones. During the incident, two of the assailants, later identified as Ibrahim Abubakar and Dele Emmanuel, committed acts of sexual violence against her.

In a related development, two other residents reported similar armed robbery incidents, resulting in the theft of high-value electronics, including iPhones and an iPad Pro M2.

Through coordinated intelligence work and investigative follow-up, the stolen iPhone 14 Pro Max was traced to the suspects. Both Ibrahim Abubakar and Dele Emmanuel were subsequently arrested and positively identified by the victim as members of the armed robbery gang.

The stolen Toyota Camry was also recovered. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the gang leader, Imole Toyin.

The Command reassures the public that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the full dismantling of this criminal network’ he added.

Also arrested and currently undergoing custodial interrogation are 4 bandit suppliers; Owolaramfe Rafiu, 38yrs, Musa Mohammed, 20yrs, Adam Alhaji Lawal, 18yrs, and Musa Shaibu , 45 yrs.

They were according to CP Adekimi Ojo arrested while trying to deliver ammunition to someone in Gbugbu.

‘At about 0730hrs, a police patrol team attached to the Lafiagi Area Command, while conducting routine stop-and-search along the Gbugbu/Patigi Road, intercepted a Toyota Corolla with registration EP 434 ABC, driven by Owolaramfe Rafiu.

Upon searching the vehicle, cops recovered 100 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition concealed among personal effects, along with different charms.

The four occupants of the vehicle; Musa Mohammed, Adam Alhaji Lawal, and Musa Shaibu were arrested immediately. During preliminary interrogation, Musa Mohammed confessed that they got the ammunition in  Nasarawa State and were planning to deliver it to an unnamed contact in Gbugbu.

A coordinated effort is underway to identify and apprehend the intended receiver of the ammunition. The suspects remain in custody, and the recovered exhibits have been secured for further investigation and prosecution’ he said.

Cops have also come to the rescue of a resident of the state, Aisata, who was abducted by gunmen in Obate Village.

The 40-year-old woman, he noted, was made to regain her freedom through the intervention of the police.

‘On 29/11/2025 at about 2105hrs, four armed men invaded the residence of Suleiman Sahadudeen in Obate Village, brandishing cutlasses and a locally made firearm. The assailants forcefully abducted his wife, Aisata, and escaped into the surrounding bush.

Shortly afterwards, the criminals returned to the scene of the incident and forcibly collected the phone belonging to one Arusat (female) a close friend of the victim and used the device to contact the husband for ransom negotiation.

The suspects initially demanded ₦30,000,000, but later reduced it to ₦150,000.

Upon receipt of the report, cops attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit swiftly launched a coordinated rescue operation, advancing into Obate–Eyenkorin axis, as officers approached the suspected hideout, the criminals detected police movement and abandoned the victim, fleeing into the bush to evade arrest.

The victim, Aisata, was rescued alive, unharmed, and in stable condition. She has since been reunited with her family after medical assessment. Efforts are ongoing to track, identify, and apprehend the fleeing suspects’ he said.

An ex-convict, Godday Agaadi aka Emmanuel has also been arrested while trying to steal a turkey in Omu-Aran, Irepodun local government.

The police chief said Godday was wearing police camouflage uniform when he was arrested.

‘At about 0340hrs, cops attached to the Special Intelligence Squad (SIS) on special duty within the Ilorin South axis arrested one Godday Agaadi aka Emmanuel Okah, an ex-convict, who was found wearing a police camouflage shirt around the Cele area of Ago-Oru, Omu-Aran.

The suspect was arrested while trying to steal a live turkey from a residence. Upon a thorough search, officers discovered that he was in possession of an AK-47 rifle with 25 rounds of live ammunition.

Further findings led to the arrest of other gang members. Investigations confirmed that Godday Agaadi aka Emmanuel Okah is a known ex-convict with a record of violent offenses in the Omu-Aran area.

The suspect was unlawfully impersonating police personnel while in possession of a military-grade assault rifle, the three suspects are currently in custody while investigation is ongoing to apprehend other members of the criminal network’ the CP submitted.

 Responding to a reporter’s question asking if measures have been taken by the police in response to the recent abduction incidents in the state especially Isapa, Ekiti local government, CP Adekimi Ojo , who noted that security strategies are not discussed on pages of newspapers in order not threaten the potential success of the plans, however said ’we have gone deep in respect of intelligence-driven investigation’.
